Sarah Tolan-Mee
I work with individuals and couples navigating life changes, including pre- and postpartum issues, identity shifts across the life span, reclaiming vitality and self-connection, intimacy and communication challenges, and cross-cultural relationships. My approach is compassionate, non-judgmental, and deeply attentive to the moral, spiritual, and cultural values of my clients. I work with you to identify and embody your own visions for yourself and your life.
In support of holistic healing and growth, I incorporate somatic techniques into sessions including mindfulness and visualization, Somatic Parts Work, Alexander Technique, authentic movement, and breathwork. I incorporate Gottman and Emotion-Focused Therapy approaches with couples, and hold nuermous accreditations in somatic therapy. I am a registered Master Somatic Movement Therapist with The International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association.
I began my career in the performing arts, and witnessed the transformative power of somatic process. I bring healing techniques from the creative arts into sessions alongside verbal exploration of issues. I am a mother, and deeply attuned to the ways in which parenthood changes your relationship to self, and to everyone around you. I am a companion, witness, and guide through intense life transitions, and am in constant awe of the complexities of identity and connection we all navigate daily in our modern living.
