I believe that each individual is an expert in their own life who deserves to live with dignity and autonomy. I use an integrative approach that is person-centered and trauma-informed. I incorporate techniques to help clients increase mindfulness, decrease negative thinking, and practice making choices from a wise mind perspective. I will work with you to identify your own strengths that you can use to create positive change in your life. My style is direct, empathetic, and non-judgmental. I work with teens and adults.
I obtained an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University in Chicago. I have worked with clients experiencing complex PTSD, developmental trauma, sexual trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, bipolar disorders, anger management, and intimate partner violence. I have experience working with individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community, young adults, and parents. As a Black woman, I am passionate about issues of systemic oppression and racial stress. I am a partner, a mother, and previously worked as an educator for nearly twenty years.
