How many times a day do you get asked the question, “How are you?” Out of these times, how often do you actually answer the question truthfully? When you come into my office, I want you to feel comfortable answering that question with authenticity–and feel at peace.
I believe feeling safe in the therapeutic setting is the first step in your journey toward healing. I strive for my clients to not only feel secure, but also feel heard and valued. I will help guide you through challenging scenarios and life decisions, as we work collaboratively on strategies to help you arrive at a healthier place.
I have an array of clinical experiences working with different mental health issues, such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma, relationship issues, self-esteem issues and substance use disorders. I find gratification in helping individuals who grapple with anxiety, depression, and struggles with-esteem.
Every individual is unique in terms of what they need in counseling, and I tailor my style of treatment to those needs. Depending on the person and their situation, my approach draws from different orientations such as person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy.
I have a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University. My time there has afforded me the skills and knowledge to work with a wide variety of populations from different socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities, ages, and with different mental challenges. I’m passionate about the benefits of therapy, and I recognize it takes courage to seek help.
I look forward to hearing from you and starting our journey toward your wellness together!
