Hi there! I’m Courtney.
First of all, I want to commend you for considering therapy at this time. Change starts with a small first step, and here you are.
In sessions, we’ll work together to build a safe space where you can explore and process anything that’s weighing on your mind. There are no wrong answers here! You won’t be graded in therapy. We’ll collaborate to meet your goals at your own unique pace.
I offer therapeutic skill building and a non-judgemental atmosphere where you can safely explore your thoughts, feelings, insecurities, and life experiences. Together, we rewrite your story so you can start a new chapter of healing and peace. I’m here to empower you, but also to challenge you. In our sessions, we’ll shed stigma and shame so you can feel heard and uplifted.
Before becoming a clinical intern at Living Well, I was still deeply involved in the mental health field. I’ve worked in a residential eating disorder center, volunteered at a crisis line, mentored youth/adolescents, contributed to bipolar research, and utilized cutting edge biological interventions like transcranial magnetic stimulation, known as TMS. I loved these roles, and I’ve come away from these experiences knowing that I want to do the emotionally nitty-gritty work with clients. My passion is working with you: all of your idiosyncrasies, complexities, and intersections, even the parts of yourself that you might feel ashamed of or intimidated by. I’ll draw on a variety of treatment techniques to help your progress–I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy.
I deeply value diversity and equity. My undergraduate thesis focused on fostering resilience within the LGBT+ community and I’m dedicated to providing culturally competent care to whoever walks through my door. I’m committed to continuing my own process of learning, unlearning, and listening. In these difficult times, folks have been told to minimize their race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, gender identity, or disability/health status. The personal is often political. You don’t need to censor yourself or tone yourself down in our sessions–I’m truly honored to witness the full authentic you, and ultimately help you live the life you want according to what you value and hold dear.
In my free time I love reading, crafting, thrifting, attending concerts, or spending time with my goofball cat. If you’d like to schedule a consultation call to see if we’d be a good fit, feel free to reach out!
