I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist currently working toward a Ph.D. in Art Therapy Psychology. I have experience working with artists, BIPOC individuals, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and those navigating concerns related to ADHD, anxiety, depression, identity development, family dynamics, and the broader social and political factors that impact mental health. I approach therapy through the lenses of critical consciousness, intersectionality, anti-oppressive practice, and intuitive ways of knowing. My goal as a therapist is to move beyond traditional concepts of multiculturalism and contribute to the decolonization of how we understand pathology, healing, and human resilience.
In sessions, I integrate critical inquiry, somatic practices, and creative exploration to support healing, self-expression, stress reduction, and coping. Together, we may explore the impact of systemic oppression, racism, political and social stressors, family dynamics, neurodiversity, and identity formation on emotional well-being. I strive to create a space where clients can deepen self-understanding, strengthen self-compassion, and reconnect with their innate capacity for growth and healing.
I believe creative intuition can help us access and communicate the truth of our experiences in transformative ways. Art therapy is an integrative practice that engages multiple areas of the brain and invites us to witness our experiences rather than judge them. We all possess a creative voice, and through engaging with that voice, we can cultivate empowering self-discovery, greater self-awareness, and the ability to make conscious choices that support healing and meaningful change.
